Centre for Childhood Research
The Centre for Childhood Research has been established with the aim of:
- Strengthening the interdisciplinary research in the field of childhood (especially until the tenth year of the child’s life) in order to promote the practice of early and pre-school education and primary education within the framework of modern institutional childhood. We are devoted to examining the existing as well as new knowledge based on the research approaches appropriate to the educational context.
- Supporting the further development of professional identity amongst experts and researchers in the field of early and pre-school education and primary education. The role of continuing professional development and lifelong learning is a key prerequisite for the development and consolidation of professional identity. To this end, the centre functions as a kind of testing ground for the development of a "community of theoretical and practical work" and enables the practitioners to have continuous access to the academic community through the organization of research seminars and periodic " partnership evenings " with guest lecturers, as well as through semi-annual conferences dedicated to the advancement of the work as a whole.
