Mission and vision

The Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka has been referring to the Strategy of the University of Rijeka 2014 – 2020 as a certain methodological framework that guides the activities of every university constituent, and thus also the mission, vision and activities of the Faculty of Teacher Education.
 

MISSION

The mission of the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka is to achieve excellence in the education of students – future teachers and educators who will, on the grounds of the learning outcomes achieved, be able to readily respond to all the challenges their profession places before them and to represent the strength of progressive change and the development of the knowledge society within the community they work in. In order to achieve this mission the Faculty of Teacher Education shall, based on its scientific achievements in the field of educational sciences, act as a higher education institution that boasts high academic and ethical values and principles emanating from the respect for human rights, while serving as a place for developing critical thinking and fostering a culture of tolerance and cooperation at all levels of its work.
 

VISION

The vision of the Faculty of Teacher Education is to become the leading national academic institution for the education of school and kindergarten teachers, one that is also internationally renowned for its work. We tend to provide quality and efficient education based on learning outcomes and on a concept of lifelong learning.  The Faculty of Teacher Education shall be a dynamic institution that systematically and in an organized fashion stimulates the mobility and research career, allowing every individual (teachers, associates, administrative staff and students) to express his/her unique talents and entrepreneurial spirit. Our vision is to permanently improve our work, achieve high academic standards and actively take responsibility for the quality of our own work and advancement.
